Following our exploration of this key theme through the Eata liturgy over Easter, we invite Companions and Novices in Community to spend time reflecting on how God often shows up in the every day, bringing Hope and life even in the darkest places, and perhaps especially there.

Please note that the format of these retreats will be different to the ones we held before the pandemic. One particular change is that as we gather for mealtimes, we will predominantly embrace the specialness of holding silence together.

Suggested Donation: As a registered charity, The Northumbria Community Trust does not ask for a set fee to cover the cost of a retreat. Instead, we invite donations to support the life and work of the wider Community as a whole.

Many retreatants welcome a suggestion as to what might be an appropriate donation. This is always a difficult question to answer. However, for your guidance, the suggested donation is £200 – £250 per person for a Monday to Friday retreat (4 nights)£150 – £190 Friday to Monday (3 nights). If you are a UK taxpayer, please consider ‘gift-aiding’ your donation. We have found that if everyone gives as they are able, in the end, there is enough to sustain the ongoing life of the Northumbria Community.
