Individually Guided Retreat (IGR) Entering the Silence (Nether Springs)
17 – 20 May (Monday to Thursday)
Let me rest in Your will and be silent. Then the light of Your joy will warm my life. Its fire will burn in my heart and shine for Your glory. This is what I live for. Amen, Amen.
Thomas Merton
This silent retreat is a time to seek God in the cell of your own heart, in a community of fellow seekers. Each retreatant will be paired with a companion on the journey from whom they can receive individual support and guidance. Apart from the session of spiritual accompaniment each morning, we will seek God in silence from Monday after Night Prayers until an optional closing group reflection on the final day.

Postal Positives: The Ministry of Letters (Nether Springs)
21 – 23 May (Friday to Sunday)
A letter through the post can be a rare thing nowadays, but receiving a card or note, knowing that someone has set aside some time just for you, or for an important matter, can have real impact. Why not spend a weekend thinking about receiving, sending and maybe even writing messages of hope and love. There have been many faith-inspired letters written both in the scriptures and beyond – which ones have spoken to you?

Bees and Birds (Nether Springs)
24 – 27 May (Monday to Thursday)
We’ll gather to learn more about the Birds and the Bees – literally!
Honey bees are incredible insects, with much to teach us about collective wisdom, cooperation and effective decision-making. Jesus tells us to “consider the birds of the air.” Both birds and bees are abundant at Nether Springs – but just how abundant are they?
Alongside learning more about these fascinating creatures, we’ll have the chance to take part in a mini BioBlitz, recording the species of birds and bees we discover in and around Nether Springs. Last summer we discovered over 65 species of birds around the site. There are over 270 wild bee species in the UK but have never stopped to discover how many of those we have here. Together, we’ll build a snapshot of the richness and variety of these amazing winged creatures.
We’ll look broadly, noticing what we can find and how many, but we’ll also take time to slow down and really attend to them: their form, beauty and behaviour. It will be an opportunity not only to discover more about the natural world around us, but to practise the art of paying attention.
