In October, both at Nether Springs and in our online contexts, we are using two sets of readings each day.
The scripture readings for Morning Prayer will support our reflections on ‘Parting and Planting’ which are taken from the Finan series in Celtic Daily Prayer, Book 1. These reflections, taken from a variety of sources, use the last words of some of our well know spiritual forebears to help us appreciate that the journey of our individual lives relate to God’s unfolding story. The scripture readings will also be shown on our website.
Our Evening Prayer will use the reflections ‘’What are You and What am I?’ which are taken from the Eata readings in Celtic Daily Prayer, Book 2. These reflections explore the writings of Evelyn Underhill which echo the spirituality of the seventh century Celtic Church.
Even though we will be using these readings, please do explore the other sets of readings in our prayer books, which you might find more pertinent to you during the month.
