In September, both at Nether Springs and in our online contexts, we are using two sets of readings each day.
The scripture readings for Morning Prayer will support our reflections on ‘Hospitality’ which are taken from the Colman series in Celtic Daily Prayer, Book 2. These readings challenge our comfortable notion that hospitality simply means hosting a meal and help us to move towards that Christlike hospitality of the heart. The scripture readings will also be shown on our website.
Our Evening Prayer will use the reflections ‘Celtic Footprints’ which are taken from the Eata readings in Celtic Daily Prayer, Book 2. These reflections describe the traces of some of our Celtic saints to be found in the landscapes, traditions and holy places of the north and west of the British Isles.
Even though we will be using these readings, please do explore the other sets of readings in our prayer books, which you might find more pertinent to you during the month.
