In October, both at Nether Springs and in our online contexts, we are using two sets of readings each day.

The scripture readings for Morning Prayer will support our reflections on ‘What are You and What am I?’ which are taken from the Eata series in ‘Celtic Daily Prayer’, volume 2. These reflections, extracts from Evelyn Underhill’s writing on Christian spirituality, challenge us to understand and put into practice a balance between contemplation and action. The scripture readings will also be shown on our website.

Our Evening Prayer will use the readings ‘The places of the House that John built’ taken from the Colman series in ‘Celtic Daily Prayer’, volume 2. These readings trace the direct faith line from Jesus to the Celtic church, via the desert teachings to Celtic monatsicism.

Even though we will be using these readings, please do explore the other sets of readings in our prayer books, which you might find more pertinent to you during the month.
