In August, both at Nether Springs and in our online contexts, we are using two sets of readings each day.
The scripture readings for Morning Prayer will support our reflections on ‘In The World’ which are taken from the Colman series in ‘Celtic Daily Prayer’, volume 2. The reflections use excerpts from the writings of Barbara Brown Taylor and Charles Ringma to help us to dissolve the artificial boundary between sacred and secular. The scripture readings will also be shown on our website.
Our Evening Prayer will use the readings ‘The Heart Alone with God’ written by Trevor Miller and taken from the Eata series in ‘Celtic Daily Prayer’, volume 2. These readings help us to dissolve the artificial boundary between praying and living.
Even though we will be using these readings, please do explore the other sets of readings in our prayer books, which you might find more pertinent to you during the month.
