Nether Springs is served by a small residential community living out the Community’s Rule of Life in the context of our Community’s Mother House. Over the years, many men and women of all ages and backgrounds have served on the ‘House Team’, providing hospitality for the thousands of people who have come to Nether Springs and found ‘home’ here. Serving for a season of between a month and two years, people on the House Team have the opportunity to explore a Northumbrian spirituality, find some personal growth, meet a wide variety of people from all over the world and hopefully have some fun along the way.

As part of the House Team you will take a full part in the life of Nether Springs as an expression of our Rule of Life. This includes the many practical things that provide hospitality for those who visit – especially in keeping the rhythm of the day, but it’s also about being who you are, seeking God for yourself, and learning more about living with others in community.

Being on the House Team is a different kind of experience to being on retreat at Nether Springs, and at times can be quite demanding physically, emotionally and spiritually. Because of this, we want to take time to discern with each applicant as to whether being on the House Team is the right place for them to be. To apply you must be over 18 years of age (no upper age limit), and preferably have a teachable heart, a sense of humour and are able to pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

If you are interested in exploring serving on the House Team please have a look at the Discernment Criteria below and contact Catherine Askew through the Community Office.
