Irish monks used boats called coracles to travel on the ocean in search of a ‘desert place‘ in which they found God in a new way.  One of the most famous of these monks is Brendan, who set out from the West coast of Ireland in search of paradise. During this retreat, we’ll hear some of the tales of Irish monks on their journeys and reflect on the coracle as a symbol of contemporary Christian living. It will include a celebrating of St. Brendan’s Day and an exploring of our own callings to risky living.
