28th April - Young Leaders

It is always a joy to spend time with the SWYM, [South West Youth Ministries] network.  These are young leaders in the South West of England ably led by their young Director, Paul. Young men like him give me a sense of hope for the future of the church.  I appreciate the opportunities to meet, encourage and mentor young leaders like Paul and they act as a reminder to all of us that God calls young men and women into the leadership of His church.
Similarly I spent a really lovely day in Leeds with someone whom Shirley and I have really come to love very dearly.  Simon and Anna are a beautiful couple and one of those folks that you just wish we lived nearer to each other.  He’s a young man of incredible intellect, is creative and someone who carries a real love for God and a real passion to think and serve the Kingdom of God in the city of Leeds; his home and place of calling.  He has been spending time this last year looking at issues of spirituality and contemplation in the city and it is hoped, resources allowing, to see this work continue. I believe his work could make a significant contribution to believers and seekers trying to live out their faith in an urban, busy city context.

Newsflash

Our good friends and Community Companions Martin and Bekah Neil have been intimately involved in a project to record the Wagogo people in Africa, in order to provide wells in their villages. Trust me, you need to buy this CD and DVD set. It may well change your life, and it will certainly change theirs... You can order it from our Resources area.
